Juicy Bacon Hamburgers

hamburger 1

Grilling season has arrived & Hamburgers are a summertime necessity.  Of course we all want the perfect burger that is juicy & full of flavor but doesn't that dream always seem misleading when you pull those patties from the grill only to find that you have created a dry, lump of meat?

There are some things that are necessary for cooking a good burger.  First & foremost is fat.  As a general rule you want a meat that has a little bit in it.  In these burgers, however, we are going to use a lean ground beef & add in our own healthier fats.  Because of this fact, this recipe works great for ground game meats as well as lean ground beef.

In regards to your bacon, please, please buy uncured bacon with the highest quality ingredients available.

The other thing that is super important is to make sure you don't cook your patties too long.  A good sear on each side plus a couple of minutes should come close to producing the desired outcome.  If you want your meat to cook longer than that, move it to an area of the grill that doesn't get direct heat from the flame.

Enjoy these burger on my Sandwich Rolls or make them into a lettuce burger!
